With American cities facing military occupation and network television and public radio under attack, the urgent need for messaging and music Americans can rally around has become sharply more pronounced in recent days. As by now most have come to realize, we ourselves have somehow become targets in our own country, and no song puts that realization into better focus than Mike Younger’s The Enemy Within.

Mr. Younger’s new track features great performances by Michael Majett on bass (Kenny Sharpe, War & Treaty) and Josh McEwen on drums (Tom Mason &The Blue Buccaneers), helmed at the console by Nashville production and sound renaissance man Jesse Thompson, currently on the road with Margo Price as her in-house sound tech. Younger himself holds down the keys and guitars all while delivering a mic-dropping takedown of the autocratic nightmare that we are presently experiencing.
